This month we continue our discussion with Joyce Ebmeier services Tabitha Health. At 25 years of experience in the nursing home industry, Ebmeier talked about the benefits of green house and a phenomenon called the "Green House Creep", explaining how the model of care lead positive change in the traditional 205-bed Tabitha's Nursing Home, affectionately known as "the mother ship."
History of Mary
For many, the benefits of this house is undeniable. Living in a small community operating under its own set of rules is a happy marriage. When Mary, a first step in the old House of Thea, held its 101st anniversary, the staff asked what I wanted. Ebmeier sounds sad when she remembers: "Mary and her daughter sitting on the porch enjoying a margarita and a cigarette." This year for his birthday, everyone gathered on the terrace and had margaritas in honor of his memory.
From the business community before
It always painful to lose someone you love but Ebmeier said the green room, which is "the most intense. [Death] The acute effects of the dynamic."
After the first death Thea Tabitha House staff acted to fill the field. Residents and staff of the Green House refused, saying that "no hurt enough yet "and needed more time.
Tabitha administration has accepted a written policy TheHouse, which describes steps to take when an elder died, to allow time for all to mourn properly.
Changing partnership
Tabitha's administration worked with the community to develop guidelines and a schedule that worked. Ebmeier described the policy as "an opportunity to honor this family member." After the initial period of mourning, the staff and residents will welcome the newest member of the Green Room.
The result had a profound effect on the mother ship. Staff and residents quickly developed its own policy for them, too, can complain about the neighbors and friends who had died.
