Designed for kids ages 3-5, the mini kick is the quality choice in children's scooters. The mini kick won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold and the Platinum Award Seals for Best Toy in 2009. The mini also was named 'Best Pre-School Scooter' by Toy Report and 'Best Outdoor Toy' by Learning Express Stores. What makes the mini unique is its quality construction and its 'lean-and-steer' design, which allows children to use their body weight to control the steering, giving them the feeling of 'surfing' the sidewalk, as they curve from right to left, almost like a skateboard. The lean-and-steer adds an element of fun and control that young children love. The mini's 3 wheels provide greater stability, making it easier for even the youngest kids to learn to ride. Great for their balance and coordination. The wheels are Italian-made of highest quality PU, especially for micro. They provide a smooth glide, making the mini almost effortless to ride. The wheels also make for a quiet ride, a joy for parents and children alike. The mini can be ridden inside, as well as outside, because the polyurethane wheels won't leave black marks on the floor. The deck of the mini is low-to-the-ground and large enough for both feet, making it easy for young children to hop on and off and to switch from pushing, to just enjoying the ride. The 'spoon' brake at the back adds additional control - kids like the control and also because it looks just like the big kids' scooters. For parents, the mini's light weight (only 3.3lbs), means it's easy to pick up and carry when need be, and makes it easier for the kids themselves to pick up and maneuver. Note: - the mini can hold weights up to 60lbs, when used for cruising, but is not designed for jumps or tricks. They step onto the stage of London's Royal Albert Hall: Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and Eric Clapton. The capacity crowd, which includes Sean Penn and Jude Law, stands to greet them. Thirty-seven years after their farewell concert, the famously fiery Cream did the unthinkable--they reunited. This double-disc collection (and accompanying CD set) captures highlights from the historic four-day engagement, beginning with a buoyant "I'm So Glad" and ending with a triumphant "Sunshine of Your Love." It would be churlish to suggest that Cream appears exactly as they did in the 1960s (Bruce looks a little frail), but the legendary power trio still has the goods. Bruce is still the essence of soul (a particularly rich vocal on "Politician"), while Baker is as irrepressible as ever (a rare vocal on "Pressed Rat and Warthog," percussive tour-de-force "Toad"). Then there's Clapton, who remains as much a master of the guitar as of understatement. "Thanks for waiting all these years," he quips after a slow-burning "Outside Woman Blues," then adds, "We're going to do every song we know." The track listing is, indeed, generous, despite the absence of such Cream classics as "I Feel Free," "Strange Brew," and "Tales of Brave Ulysses." All told, there are 22 songs plus three alternate takes--and not a bad one in the bunch. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Lane Myer (John Cusack) is stuck in a personal hell. A compulsive, adolescent Everyman growing up in Suburbia, USA, not only does he fail to make the prestigious high school ski team (again), but his beloved sweetheart, Beth, also leaves him for Roy, the team's popular, arrogant captain. If this isn't bad enough, he's stuck with a mother who frighteningly experiments--rather than cooks--with food, a brother who builds rockets out of models, and a best friend so desperate for drugs that he settles for snorting powdered snow. Faced with these prospects, Lane opts to end it all ... until he comes up with a ridiculous plan to gain acceptance and win Beth back. Director Savage Steve Holland warps this simple, clichéd premise, letting his wacky imagination twist it into a fairly original, slightly dark, and completely hilarious '80s teen comedy. Not as serious a "suicide-attempt" movie as, say, Harold and Maude but just as funny, the film's more a collection of screwball sketches than a narrative. Holland livens the high jinks with surrealistic fantasy touches, including Jell-O that crawls, a hamburger that sings Van Halen, drawings that mock its creator, Japanese race-car drivers who only speak Howard Cosell, and a psychotic paperboy seeking blood over a missing $2. Cusack puts the whole thing on his shoulders and carries the insanity with another one of his touching, obsessively romantic performances, which, along with Say Anything, The Sure Thing, and One Crazy Summer, made him the quintessential (and appealing) personification of lovestruck adolescence and suffering. --Dave McCoy

This fizzy musical was a Broadway smash in 1962, and boy, is it a product of its era. Executive washrooms, gray-flannel-suit businessmen, hip-swinging secretaries--they're all preserved in the movie's brightly colored amber. J. Pierpont Finch (Robert Morse) is the window washer who climbs the corporate ladder in a few days, guided by a how-to book. The Frank Loesser songs are great fun, the Bob Fosse dances are very clever and mod, and the gaudy set design may have given Andy Warhol a few ideas. The jack-in-the-box performance of the elfin Robert Morse doesn't seem toned down from his Tony-winning stage turn; think Mickey Rooney doing Jerry Lewis. Still, Morse is a unique presence, and his mad little solo dance down a real Manhattan street is an interlude of sublime daffiness. Grand old crooner Rudy Vallee shines as the president of Worldwide Wicket, barking his beloved alma mater's fight song: "Groundhog! Groundhog!" --Robert Horton

Do not let a lack of mobility slow you down. Get a 4 wheel scooter to get around. With a scooter, you will not miss out on those things in life that you still want to do.

Shopping, touring, visiting friends and family: nothing should stop you from these activities. Your giddy-up may be gone, but modern technology will keep you on the go.

You may think you still don’t need a 4 wheel scooter. After all, you are still mobile. That may be true, but maybe you tire easy. And then you are away from living life to the fullest, the way you always have. Maybe you can’t keep up with the crowd like you used to. The crowd wants you along. You want your independence. You want to continue to enjoy your life. You want to still make all your own shopping decisions. If all these things are true, then a scooter will bring it all back to you.

A 4 wheel scooter should have the features that make cruising possible.

The 4 wheel scooter should be collapsible so that you can store it easy whether you are at home or on the road. Since you will want to use scooter anywhere, make sure that that it set up to be used in both indoors and out. An adjustable seat with a strong back is key to the comfort that you will need. Also make sure you have some storage place to bring your stuff along.

What about performance for your 4 wheel scooter? As far as speed goes, you are going to want to make sure that you can get around at a pace that will keep you moving with everyone else outdoors. You will also need to make sure it has a battery life that is long enough for touring. Think about 20 miles between charges.

Handling and turning radius is extremely important. If you are in a tight space in a store, you do not want to be pushing shopping carts out of the way or waiting for someone who is blocking the aisle while they reach for pork rinds on the top shelf. These places are hard enough when you are walking. You do not want to make it any worse when you are on four wheels.

The machine should be sturdy so that it can take the wear and tear of anywhere you drive as well as the wear and tear of being taken in and out of your vehicle.
The History Of The Hybrid Car

Author: Colin Jones

Article: Just where did a hybrid car get it's start? Well, read on to find out. Hybrid cars are very popular for today's car buyers, and there are many reasons why. But before you even think about choosing a hybrid car to buy, you might want to know a little bit about the history of the hybrid car first.

It is surprising, but hybrid vehicles were around even before gas-powered cars. In or about the year 1665, a Jesuit priest by the name of Ferdinand Verbeist started making plans for a new type of vehicle. That vehicle or cart would be very simple, nothing complex. Dead simple was all he was interested in.

So it was that Ferdinand designed a car that would have four wheels and would run on steam. It took about fifteen years of work for Ferdinand to go through with his plan. He worked|laboured to perfect his dream car. But no one knows for certain if he ever finished it because there is no evidence that his concept ever came into existence.

Then in 1769, a man with the name of Nicholas Cugnot designed and developed a carriage that was powered by steam. This vehicle really did work and it went at six miles per hour. This project was all well and good, but it was difficult to get the amount of steam needed to make the car to travel any significant distance.

A break through in hybrid car design finally came when Robert Anderson developed an electrically powered car in 1839. It was the first of its breed and was built in Scotland.

This type of electric car was a highly applauded innovation of its time. But, the only problem was that it was very hard to replenish the car's battery. Some pioneers did come after Anderson, but they had the same problem of getting the battery recharged after a few miles.

Finally in the year 1898 Porsche manufactured an electric and fuel combustion engine that was the first of its time. The car was called the Lohner Electric Chaise, and it could go up to 40 miles just using batteries.

Soon, pioneers combined both gas and a battery powered engines to become what would turn into today's hybrid vehicle. In 1999, Honda made its jump into the US market. It brought out the Honda Insight, which was a lightweight two-door hybrid vehicle. Since then, hybrid vehicles have been evolving and improving into what we see on the roads these days. Hybrid cars are no longer just for the techies who think it's nice to combine battery and liquid fuel to get them where they want to go. Hybrid cars started out simple, and they still are quite simple today.

These days hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly more popular as people are getting to understand them better. In the 21st century, hybrids saw a big boom in sales after the Toyota Prius came on the streets. It was the first hybrid with four doors that was marketed in the USA.

Then, Ford's Escape hybrid became the very first SUV hybrid ever made. So there, you have it, the history of the hybrid vehicle, today's modern car.

Not all people with physical disabilities are capable of using a manual wheelchair. They do not have the proper stamina and strength to operate an ordinary wheelchair. To cope with this problem, technology introduces the mobility scooter, which also refers to an electric scooter, or power operated scooter.

This scooter is a mobility aid that functions the same as wheelchair. The only difference between the two is the design. A mobility scooter more likely looks like a regular motor scooter.

Mobility scooters are powered by a rechargeable battery and consist of a seat that can be swiveled to become accessible when the handlebars block the front. A flat area for feet is also included to it where you can rest and relax your two feet.

The scooter has a tiller that is responsible for controlling the speed. To easily maneuver the direction, the electric scooter uses a switch, thumb paddles or finger controls.

There are a variety of models that can be seen in the marketplace. In general, there are two classifications for electric scooter:

1. The first one is the Rear-wheel drive (RD) which is multipurpose in nature because it can be used both for internal and external places. Usually, mobility scooters have a load capacity of 300-500 pounds.

2. The second type is the Front-wheel drive (FD), which is smaller than RD. It is ideal for indoor use and has a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds.

Some of the advantages of electric scooters from manually operated wheelchairs are convenience and ease of use. Patients do not need to exert too much strength and effort in controlling the scooter. It is cost effective than buying electric wheelchairs.

There is still another option available if you cannot afford to buy new electric scooters. Some amusement parks offer scooter rentals so that disabled people can take pleasure during their stay at the park.

Mobility scooters are a great help for everyone facing mobility problems. Disability scooters are a way to improve their life. Using this type of disability machine can deliver freedom and enjoyment for each handicapped individual who uses a scooter.

Here are some important factors that should influence your choice.

* What is your present physical condition, and how is it likely to change?

* Certain disabilities may not give you much of a choice, and to help you on this, talk to your doctor or appropriate medical specialist. Explain what you are planning to do, and ask for a candid assessment of your needs and physical capabilities, current and future.

The outcome will guide you to a suitable choice among the various motorized options.

Broadly speaking these are:

* Electric Mobility Scooters. In simple terms a platform with a motor and seat at one end and a steering mechanism at the other.
*
* They have three or four wheels and are operated with one or both hands, depending on the model.Excellent if you can sit, stand and maneuver in and out of the scooter but unable to walk for extended periods of time.
* However, the greater turning radius and size makes them harder to use in confined areas.

* Power Wheelchairs. As you will assume, motorized versions of the manual wheelchair. Lightweight folding options are available for easy travel and storage. ( mobility scooter and power base wheelchairs must be loaded into a vehicle via a ramp or lift) And in contrast to the characteristics of the scooter I have just mentioned, you may prefer a power wheelchair if yu need a wheelbase at home.

* Power-base wheelchairs. A seat mounted on heavy wheelbase, and may come with six wheels. It has a low center of gravity, which makes it very secure. Daily activities are managed with ease.More expensive that the mobility scooters and power wheelchairs, and with the highest weight capacity.
